ODA announces latest board appointment

The Online Dating Association (ODA) is pleased to announce its newest board member, Jessica Alderson of So Syncd. Jess was elected to the board at its AGM held on 1 March 2023.

On joining the ODA board, Jess Alderson said:

“I’m honoured to join the board of directors of such an incredible organisation that champions trust and safety. It’s a complex area that is continuously evolving, but the Online Dating Association has already made considerable progress in changing the industry for the better. Creating and promoting appropriate online dating safety standards is critical for protecting users and enabling them to find connections that positively impact their lives. I am grateful to the Online Dating Association for this opportunity to make an impact in an area that aligns with the values of So Syncd.”

Welcoming Jess to the board, Dr Hannah Shimko, ODA Chief Executive said:

“We are delighted to have Jess join the Board of Directors of the ODA. As a female dating service founder, Jess brings unique skills and perspective that will be vital as ODA moves on to the next phase of our work, including a revamp of our standards and a broader global engagement. So Syncd is a successful, innovative new dating app, and Jess’s experience of building and launching this app, as well as her dedication to trust and safety, will bring invaluable knowledge and experience as the dating sector faces a new legislative and regulatory landscape globally.
