ODDA Responds to Ofcom Plan of Work

The ODDA recently responded to Ofcom’s consultation on their Plan of Work 2026/27. Online safety is one of four key priorities in the Plan which sets out the regulator’s focus for the year ahead.

In our response, we welcomed the outcome-focused approach to regulation that Ofcom have taken since the implementation of the Online Safety Act, but drew attention to areas of the Plan we felt needed more clarity, including the relationship between online safety and fraud. As we have raised with Ofcom previously, we firmly believe there is a need for a fraud risk assessment to be carried out before any codes, guidance or additional measures are finalised.
