Presenters

Jen Dinmore – Legal Director of Consumer

Jen is a Legal Director in the Digital, Commerce & Creative team. She specialises in advising clients regarding consumer regulation. Previously she was Director of Consumer Protection at the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), where she led a number of high-profile investigations into breaches of consumer law since 2014. Before joining the CMA, she was a consumer lawyer at the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) and advised on regulatory issues at the Office of Rail and Road (ORR). Jen began her career practising as a solicitor, specialising in commercial litigation.

Alex Meloy – Managing Associate

Alex is a Managing Associate in the Digital, Commerce and Creative (DCC) team, specialising in consumer law, advertising regulation and promotional marketing. He specialises in advising leading brands and household names on compliance with consumer protection law and regulation. He regularly drafts consumer-facing terms and conditions for a diverse range of goods and services and provides timely, practical advice on consumer protection issues as they arise. He has particular experience of advising on subscription contracts, helping clients develop compliant consumer journeys and advising on relevant issues such as auto-renewal and cooling-off rights. Alex also regularly presents client events on upcoming consumer law changes, including most recently on the DMCC Act and the new CMA enforcement powers and rules on unfair commercial practices and subscription contracts.
